There are a couple of things that can happen when an actress’s pregnancy threatens to interfere with her on-screen role. The studio can dismiss the actress, which is what happened to Hilary Duff, who had been set to star in Bonnie & Clyde until announcing her pregnancy recently. (She received $100,000 for her trouble.) Or filming can be postponed, which might happen to the remake of A Star Is Born, in which a now-pregnant Beyonce is set to star. Sometimes even top actresses give up roles due to pregnancy. Nicole Kidman stepped down from the lead role in The Reader when she became pregnant in 2007; the role that eventually earned Kate Winslet an Oscar. But sometimes filming continues as planned, and everyone tries their best to work around the star’s growing bump — with mixed results. Take a look at a few examples.
