According to a new survey from CareerBuilder.com, there will be more holiday office parties this year. Roughly 58% of employers are planning holiday parties, up from 52% in 2010. So you know what this means? You will have the chance to see a lot of things you really don’t want to. According to a new survey from London newspaper The Daily Mail in conjunction with TGIFridays, one in four people will kiss a colleague at their work Christmas party over the coming weeks. It seems as if people aren’t busy declaring the love for eachother as a result of too much alcohol they are busy doing other stupid things as a result. Psychologist Susan Quilliam said, “Psychologically, people need an occasional break from the normal social rules and constraints that the workplace in particular can impose. ‘They need just one night when they’re able to let loose and do things they maybe wouldn’t normally do, but with a ‘get out of jail free’ card the next morning. So I don’t find it at all surprising that there’s so many unhibited gathering at this time of year.”
Let’s take a look at some of these breaks from normal social rules we absolutely don’t want to see at the office Christmas party and decide which ones will actually cause us blindness.
