CNN Asks The Grindstone How To Keep Resolutions Past January

The Grindstone was busy at work this weekend as our new Editor At Large, Debra Shigley, stopped by CNN on Sunday to talk about resolutions for 2012. Believe it or not, by the end of this month a third of people will have dropped or failed at their resolutions. What she thinks will help prevent this is to set goals instead of resolutions. “A goal is something that has actionable steps and you want to achieve at the end. Resolutions have more of an ongoing commitment on a day to day process,” she said. You also need to pick a few attainable goals and a few stretch goals and then do check-ins through the year. Debra also suggests getting your family involved. Though this may be a deterrent for some, apparently the Kardashians like to do this. Look for goals that will add passion and fun to your life, she said. Watch the video to get more of Debra’s great tips.
