Bethenny Frankel Has Already Cast Mila Kunis In The Film Based On Her Yet-To-Be Released Book

Well, Bethenny Frankel has never been known for being quietly ambitious. And here is another example of that. She already is talking very publicly about the fact she would like Mila Kunis to star in the film version of her first novel, Skinnydipping, which hasn’t even come out yet, according to The New York Daily News.  Is this too premature for Bethenny to be talking about?

“When I thought about the lead character, I thought about people like Mila Kunis,” Frankel said. “Expect the unexpected. I think that Mila Kunis would be perfect.” (Lea Michele was a close second.) Plans for the film are pending right now, but Frankel is confident that the 28-year-old actress would be the perfect fit. “I’ve been approached for the book to be a film and a television series,” Frankel said. “My gut says it really is a film; maybe later it could be a TV series. It has the arc, the story, the characters to be a film.”

The novel, released on May 1, is about a woman named Faith Brightstone. She is an aspiring actress who moves to L.A. for fame and love only to end up an entrepreneur and reality show contestant in New York. Hmm, who does that sound like? She ends up on a reality show with her mentor, Sybil Hunter. Coincidentally one of Bethenny’s first big career moves was when she landed on Martha Stewart Apprentice.

“It’s about a girl’s journey and what she wants, and trying to have it all. It’s about the lessons and the people along the way, about naysayers and rising above,” Bethenny told USA Today. ‘There will be a lot of juiciness and people wondering what it’s based on and if any of it was influenced by my life. You have creative license. Your imagination can go wild,’ she added.

Though there is really no reason for Bethenny not to be confident about this book doing well and being optioned for a film. Skinnydipping is the first of a three-book deal Bethenny has in place with Touchstone Fireside. Plus, she is already a three-time New York Times bestselling author.

This book is a “fictionalized” look at a woman’s journey to a very successful career and we all know how successful Bethenny’s career turned out. In addition to her Skinnygirl empire, she has a talk show coming to the airwaves soon. In an interview on The Today Show a few months ago, Bethenny said, “You have to intervene in your own life and know that anything is possible. It is why I built my own brand, did a TV show and wrote “A Place Of Yes”. It is to say to women here are solutions and we can do anything we want to but it is going to be rough. I have busted my a-s-s.”
