Jessica Simpson’s baby business is in full launch mode now. It has been reported that People magazine has already secured the rights to the exclusive photos of her daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson for $800,000.
This is more than the $75,000 Jessica was reportedly trying to get for photos of both her pregnancy and the baby. Interestingly enough, Jessica is not considered magazine cover blockbuster material anymore, but the magazines know a celebrity baby adds extra dollar signs, according to HuffPo.
This is just the beginning of Jessica’s baby empire. In January, Jessica announced she would be incorporating maternity wear into her fashion line. She reportedly did this out of frustration from the lack of appealing maternity clothes presented to her. According to SheKnows, Jess is busy crafting lots of denim and things that will show off a baby bump while making Mom feel gorgeous at the same time. And then we can’t forget about that $3 million Weight Watchers Deal, which she got as a result of her attention grabbing pregnancy weight.
If anyone can do this, it is Jessica. According to WWD, The Jessica Simpson Collection, has become one of the most successful celebrity fashion lines of all time. It will most likely become the first ever to earn more than a billion dollars in retail sales considering her line brought in a whopping $750,000,000 in retail sales last year alone, WWD reports. As a result her estimated net worth from her designs is $100 million. “She is the girl next door and has great product that surrounds her. People like her. People look at her as a style icon,” Vince Camuto, the founder and CEO of Camuto Group, says for WWD.
