8 Looks Women Wear In The Office And What They Mean

When you’ve been working for a while, you start to see a lot of different looks sported by women in the workplace, well maybe not if you work in a factory or stock exchange but in other industries you do. There is the woman who always wears the suit and never has a hair out of a place. Then there is always that girl who is so trendy it could make you puke. But what do these looks say about you in the workplace? Our friend Kat Griffin, founder of Corporette, along with some other workplace fashion experts talked to Real Simple  about what different looks mean in your career.

“When you’ve been working for a while, you start to see a lot of different looks sported by women in the workplace, well maybe not if you work in a factory or stock exchange but in other industries you do. ” how do you stop procrastinating

The difference between your/you’re would be helpful in this article.

  • I just think it’s bullshit. If you’re working in an industry where you absolutely must wear a suit, then wear a suit. I know finance is pretty picky about clothing. But in any other industry, where you’re supposedly able to wear what you want … wear what you want. I hated that Birkin article, too. I don’t think that your quality or ability to do the job is based upon what you wear to the office. If your work and personality don’t speak for you more than what you wear then you’re not doing a good enough job. Obviously if it’s horribly inappropriate there’s an issue but aside from that, prove your value with your work.

So…no matter what I wear, someone is going to judge me for it? I’m either looking too dressed up, not dressed up enough, or dressed inappropriately? Well, awesome. So long as we have achieved gender equality in the workplace, huh?

Slide 6 says “your” instead of “you’re.” Just a heads up. Otherwise an interesting article

yeah.. right! Whatever we wear on our workplace defines of who we are that is why it is best to represent ourselves with good one.
