Katie Holmes’ Broadway Gig Gets Bumped By Hurricane Sandy

Katie Holmes will just have to wait a few more days to make her Broadway appearance. Her new Broadway production, Dead Accounts, has pushed back the start of preview performances to Monday due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy.

Holmes has said she is quite excited about this upcoming performance. This is her second time on the Broadway stage. The first was back in 2008 in a revival of Arthur Miller‘s All My Sons. ”I’m just really thrilled,” she says of being back. “You’re in your dressing room and they say, ‘It’s Saturday night on Broadway!’ It’s just so exciting.” The play costars Norbert Leo Butz and Judy Greer.

Of her new role she has said, “Finally I get to yell! What I really loved about this character was she’s strong underneath it all. I like her values, I like that she’s trying to figure it all out and really cares for her family.” The play is about a brother and sister reuniting except the brother may have a very shocking secret.

I am sure the play do well though I don’t think everyone buying tickets will be a broadway enthusiast. Many just want to see Katie up close and personal. It has been quite a summer for Holmes since her shocking and sudden divorce from superstar Tom Cruise. Her celebrity has reached a whole new level. But Katie has not let her personal life slow her down. She has thrown herself into many projects including her fashion line, as well as penning a screen play and this play.

Katie’s high profile was said to boost the sales of her fashion line over the summer, so imagine what she can do for Broadway ticket sales?
