If you want to know how much it costs to fix a reputation, Kristen Stewart has a pretty good idea. The awkward actress, known for wearing t-shirts, skinny jeans, converse sneakers and messy hair, is making a costly fashion comeback to revamp her reputation as a stylish star and maybe along the way, a doting girlfriend. According to The Daily Mail, she has spent almost $40,000 on new threads.
As EntertainmentWise.com reports, the 22-year-old’s pricey new wardrobe has cost her over £31,000, with items like a floral Zuhair Murad dress she wore to the On The Road premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and the skimpy but elegant see-through gown she wore to premiere of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 yesterday. Her new look is certainly a far cry from the skinny jeans and worn converses we once thought were glued to her body.
This is all part of Kristen’s strategy to get back into the good graces of the public and her boyfriend Robert Pattinson who she got caught cheating on him back in September with director Rupert Sanders.
It looks like Kstew is taking some serious tips from Katie Holmes’s post-divorce resurfacing strategy that focused first on image re-branding through fashion with her Elle magazine cover, Project Runway appearance and Fashion Week entrance of her Holmes & Yang line launched in 2009. And, we all know how well that turned out for Holmes (even though I think we can all agree that Suri remains the style icon in that family).
But don’t think for a second that this is even making a dent in Stewart’s wallet. The 22-year-old actress is reportedly worth £55million (almost $70million), according to the Daily Mail and we’d say its more than worth spending it to keep appearances with Pattinson up and putting that scandalous little car-action-love-scene to bed. Pun intended.
