In the traditional Christmas story as told in the Bible, an angel comes to young Mary, who is engaged to Joseph, and tells her she’s pregnant. The couple travels to Bethlehem, where Mary gives birth to Jesus in a stable after being turned away from several inns. Most people think of the story in spiritual or historical terms. But most of the figures in the story were ordinary working people. If we transplanted them to 2012 in America, how would their careers be going? Would they earn a good living, be praying for something better? (Don’t take this too seriously, we’re just having a little Christmas fun!)
