Ke$ha: ‘I Remember Every Person Who Told Me…I Was Ugly Or Too Fat’


Bullying has been a hot topic in the media for a couple years, and the issue is still especially close to recording artist Ke$ha’s heart. The Los Angeles native just toldSeventeen that she considers herself a major anti-harassment advocate because of the taunting her brother has endured for having speech problems — and also because she’s still haunted by bullying memories from long ago:

“I’m all about standing up to gay/lesbian/transgender bullying, but it’s also about my little brother. He’s 13 and he gets made fun of because he has a stutter. I just have zero tolerance for people making fun of others… I remember every person who told me I couldn’t do something or that I was ugly or too fat. I have a ‘s**t list’ – people from my past who have been soulless and judgmental.”

Like most girls, Ke$ha blossomed and grew into herself as a teen, but even when she felt proud of her appearance, others still argued she’d never have a successful music career:
