First lady Michelle Obama is on the cover of the March issue of Vogue. Annie Leibowitz took the photo, and Obama wears her own blue Reed Krakoff sheath dress. The new cover is Obama’s second appearance on a Vogue cover; the first was in March 2009. But it’s her first with bangs!
It’s a big day overall for Vogue news, as editor in chief Anna Wintour just accepted an additional job as artistic director for Conde Nast. In an interview about the new job, she brushed off the suggestion that she was disappointed about not receiving the job of ambassador to England after raising millions of dollars for President Obama’s re-election. And putting the first lady on the cover of the magazine indeed sends a strong message of “no hard feelings.”
Check out the magazine’s online slide show for some really spectacular photos.
