Which of the Real Housewives deserves to earn the most? I know, it’s like asking which appetizer at Applebee’s should cost the most: Impossible, because they’re all perfect and worth $1 billion. Still, thanks to OK! magazine, we now know which housewives earn the most.
In short, it pays to be a villain. Or, as OK! puts it, “the more drama, the more moolah!”
NeNe Leakes receives the most cash per episode: $1 million for season six, plus bonuses. Leakes has been smart, building a strong persona on the show and finding work outside the Housewives universe by co-starring in the sitcom The New Normal. This fall, she’ll appear in her own reality spinoff, “I Dream of NeNe,” documenting her wedding to her ex-husband Greg. NeNe is doing just fine.
Of the Atlanta housewives, Kandi Burrus is second to NeNe at $450,000, followed by Cynthia Bailey and Phaedra Parks at $300,000.
Teresa Giudice is the second-highest earning housewife; the New Jersey star pulls $650,000 a season, plus bonuses. (What are the bonuses for, I wonder?) Caroline Manzo, AKA the housewife you’d want to be your mom if absolutely forced to choose, earns $400,000 for the season.
In the New York cast, Ramona Singer and the Countess (hahaha) LuAnn DeLesseps, bless their hearts, earn $500,000 a season. When I looked at a photo of the cast I didn’t even recognize the other women. Apparently someone named “Heather Thompson” is on the show now. Who knew?
Anyway, Vicki Gunvalson of the Orange County cast also earns $500,000 a season with the other California earning significantly less. The Beverly Hills cast members are relatively low paid, with Lisa Vanderpump topping the list at $275,000 per season. The Miami housewives all earn less than $100,000 per season.
