Taylor Swift, the great feminist of our time, scheduled her comeback to sabotage Katy Perry’s, releasing her songs to streaming in June the same day Perry’s album dropped, and now dropping an embarrassing new song hours after Katy Perry’s equally embarrassing “Swish Swish” video hit the web. Swift will debut her video for “Look What You Made Me Do” on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards, which Perry is hosting.
Everyone involved in this is embarrassing. The song is terrible, the lyrics are the stuff of a school shooter’s manifesto, and for someone who is going to be 28 in December, we expected more that “Sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? She’s dead!” Seriously, she has a highly paid and tight-knit team. How did they let her do this?
