In April 2017, Bill O’Reilly was booted from Fox News after yet another sexual harassment scandal surfaced at the network.
Fast forward to tonight: Bill O’Reilly is scheduled to appear as a guest on Fox News’ equally douchey Hannity.
Nita Chaudhary, co-founder of UltraViolet, a leading women’s advocacy organization that pushed for Fox News to fire Bill O’Reilly earlier this year, issued the following statement:
“Bill O’Reilly’s scheduled appearance on Fox News this evening is proof positive that the network’s executives remain unable and unwilling to address the culture of racism and sexual harassment that has plagued the network. O’Reilly is an unrepentant sexual predator, continuing to blame the women he assaulted for his demise at Fox News. By allowing O’Reilly to be a guest on Fox News this evening and helping rehabilitate O’Reilly’s brand, Fox News is making it clear to both its advertisers and female employees that rape culture is alive and well at the network.
“For advertisers, the message is even more clear: Fox News doesn’t care about your brand. But if you care about holding sexual abusers and racists accountable—then it’s time to cut ties with Fox News.”
Amen. Amen. And amen.
