Oh this saga of billionaires with preppy clothing lines just gets closer to becoming Revenge everyday. A Russian billionaire has now entered the picture of the Tory Burch/Chris Burch Tory Burch LLC/C. Wonder business battle. We are only a few months away from a bald evil villain with one eye making an appearance. More

Tory Burch has been in the news a lot lately. Some if it has been about the rapid success of her company and its rumored IPO. But a lot of it has been because of her very personal and public legal battle with her ex-husband, Chris Burch, and his business venture, C.Wonder. But we have been fans of Tory since the beginning not only because of her stunning designs but because of her entrepreneurial spirit, her strong desire to help other women and the fact that she has built an internationally recognized $2 billion brand in eight short years. How does she do it?! Well, here are some lessons from Tory you can start with. More
Who doesn’t like a little protesting with their shopping? Federal labor officials still have made no decision on a request by Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, to stop scheduled protests by union-backed group OUR Walmart on Black Friday outside its stores. More
It’s been a tough couple of months for Tory Burch. Her personal life has become so intertwined with her business due to her ex-husband’s lawsuit against her and her resulting countersuit, that it would be difficult to draw a line between the two. More
Enough is enough. Tory Burch will not go quietly into the night in her fabulous Reva flats. Yesterday she filed a countersuit against ex-husband Chris Burch for allegedly stealing her company secrets to create “knockoff” brand C. Wonder. This means this bloody business battle, that the case’s trial judge perfectly labeled as a ” a “drunken WASP fest”, is far from over (even though Ms. Burch is Jewish.) More
Anna Wintour may not be known for being the warmest of people but when she sees a talented designer in the fashion world being treated badly, she will defend them. In an article in the latest issue of Vanity Fair, Contributing editor Vanessa Grigoriadis writes about the nasty battle between designer Tory Burch and her ex-husband Chris Burch and his company C. Wonder. Not only is Chris being accused of ripping off his ex-wife’s remarkable style and design aesthetic but he is also personally attacking Tory and her business prowess. But Anna as well as design legend Diane von Furstenberg will simply not stand for it. More
In a new Vanity Fair interview with Kate Moss it is revealed that the iconic model did not have a very glamorous start to her career. One of the first shoots of the then 16 year old Moss required her to be naked. The process was so upsetting to the young teen that she suffered anxiety for years after it. This was 20 years ago, but according to experts, the industry has not improved that much when it comes to the treatment of young female models. What could have helped Kate was a better union protecting her, like the Model Alliance that exists today for the very purpose of helping these young women not be exploited. More
The Kardashians are pretty used to legal disputes at this point (or maybe they just like them?) because they can’t stop endorsing useless, terrible products. Today, the threats of legal action come from Beverly Hills-based beauty brand Chroma Makeup, who are incensed by the reality stars’ forthcoming makeup collection, Khroma (or, Khroma Beauty by Kourtney, Kim and Khloé).

It is very hard to get internships at fashion houses like Oscar de la Renta and Balenciaga. They are the jobs that every young aspiring fashionista desires. But now you can get them, if you have $10,000 to spare. Oscar de la Renta, Balenciaga, M Missoni and Valentino are auctioning off month long unpaid internships with pre-sale estimates of $10,000 in collaboration with the auction site CharityBuzz. The money will benefit charity which is great but do these people know what usually happens during a fashion internship?
If this isn’t a case of David and Goliath, I don’t know what is. Except instead of a giant Philestine warrior and the future King of Israel, it’s a wedding planner from Boston and the most powerful couple in show business and a baby named Blue Ivy. Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z have lost a legal battle to trademark the name of their famous daughter to a small wedding planner in Boston that goes by the same name. Beyonce and Jay-Z wanted to launch a line of baby products named after their daughter but it looks like they will just have to come up with another name (maybe “Baby by Beyonce”? Or “Blue”? Or just, this is what “Beyonce’s Baby Wears This And So Will Mine.” More
How is this guy still running a company? Michael Jeffries, CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, has been sued in another lawsuit for the dress code he mandates on the company’s private jet. The crew/models were expected to follow a very strict and detailed dress code that even told them what kind of underwear they had to wear (boxers not briefs.) All of this information came about in a law suit filed by former Abercrombie pilot, Michael Stephen Bustin. He is attempting to sue for age discrimination. The 55-year-old claims he was replaced by a younger employee. The lawsuit was filed in 2010 by Bustin and now the details of this man’s insane clothing dictatorship are coming out.
Last night Rock Center did a huge expose on Tory Burch or rather “What It Means To Be Tory Burch.” NBC’s Harry Smith talked with the fashion mogul about her company’s mega success in only eight short years but also why her clothes are so appealing to women. It is hard to believe that in less than a decade she has built a $2 billion company with a brand that is recognized around the world. It is especially amazing considering she started the business from her kitchen table and cold calling people. More
Tory Burch is a brilliant designer and businesswoman but her real estate strategy may be her one area of weakness. Burch just sold her Hamptons mansion for $11million – less than half the figure she paid for it in 2008. The fashion mogul bought the Southampton property for $22.5million from ex-husband Chris Burch following their 2006 divorce. And apparently her neighbors, which include David Koch and Rachel Ray, aren’t so happy about this sale. You do not want to piss off Rachel Ray, Tory! More
