The first action Barack Obama took as president was to sign the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which extends the legal rights of women who have experienced pay discrimination on the job. President Obama is receiving flack today for defending his decision to possibly nominate U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice for Secretary of State. Rice has been criticized, most notably by John McCain and Lindsay Graham, for her handling of the immediate aftermath of the deadly Sept. 11 Libya. So it goes after every election, the losing side of Tuesday’s contests have had to eat a lot of crow this week.
