Second-Year Law School Students Are Already Killing Themselves To Get Jobs

Law school students have just returned to the classroom but they are already thinking about next summer. Well, next summer jobs that is. According to a new report in The Wall Street Journal, profitable law firms, known as Biglaw firms, are increasingly recruiting junior lawyers two years before their hire date. So firms interview second-year law students now for summer jobs starting in May or June 2013. Students who do well are offered permanent jobs after they graduate, in 2014. But as we know the job market for lawyers is just getting tougher and tougher so 2Ls are fighting harder and harder to get these summer jobs that may help them after graduation. More »
